I was told this one by my parents, many years ago.

A young girl was given a toy teddy bear. Unfortunately it's eyes were crossed.

I'll call it "Gladly" she said.

When asked why, she replied, "Because of the hymn Gladly, the cross-eyed bear."

GCFL note: For those that don't get it, we believe the reply refers to the old hymn by Fanny Crosby, the great blind hymn writer of a hundred years ago who wrote a hymn called "Keep Thou My Way."
