GCFL.net is looking for a new logo, and we need your help! We are having a logo contest and anyone can enter. Just design a logo within the guidelines below and submit it and you might win. Acceptable submissions will be placed in the Logo Gallery.

We will email updates to the GCFL mailing list when they come available. However, we invite your input and suggestions regarding any part of this contest. You can email us at all the usual email addresses, or gcfl-logos@gcfl.net.

Contest Info

We will accept submissions for at least 3 months, or until we receive a sufficient number of submissions (at least 50). The exact cut-off date will be announced and posted 45 days in advance. Update: the cut-off date is April 1, 2003.

After the cut-off date, there will be a combination of voting from the members of GCFL, as well as a panel of judges to determine the first, second, and third place winners. We will develop a ranking system that will take into account the votes cast by the members as well as the judge's rankings. In the event of a tie, the judges will vote to break the tie. The decision of the judges will be final.

The judges are disqualified from entering the contest.

At this time the prizes have not been determined (and we welcome suggestions). However, we have budgeted a ball park monetary value for each prize below.

First prize will be worth approximately $100.00
Second prize will be worth approximately $75.00
Third prize will be worth approximately $50.00

Logo Guidelines
We plan to use the logo with our new web page design as well as any other media we produce in the near future (such as bumper stickers, t-shirts, banners, etc.). With that in mind, we are looking for a relatively simple design, but at the same time eye-catching.

For this contest, we are looking for images around the size of 300 x 100 pixels, but we do not require that your submission be exactly this size.
The logo will be on a white background (not the black background we are using on our current web page).
Logos should be submitted as image files. They must be a type that will be viewable from a web browser. GIF, JPG, PNG are all common types that can be used.
Anyone can submit up to ten (10) logos.

Features we are looking for in a logo include:

simple, yet eye-catching
scalability
uniqueness
optional: something that brings to mind clean humor
optional: something derived from the letters "GCFL," "GCFL.net" or "The Good, Clean Funnies List"

GCFL does not have an official catch phrase, but we have been know to use these two phrases, and they help reflect what we are about. We only list them to help set the tone...

Submit Your Logo

If you have a logo you would like to submit to GCFL.net, please send it to gcfl-logos@gcfl.net as an email attachment, or upload your image to the "logos" directory of out FTP server at ftp://ftp.gcfl.net.

No matter what method you get your logo to us, be sure to tell us the following information or you will not be able to receive a prize if you win:

Your real name

Your email address

Optionally, your mailing address or phone number

Only your name will be published on the web page for others to see. Your email address and any other information will be kept private. If you win, but we are unable to contact you within two weeks, you may not receive your prize.
